Case Summary:
The average processing time for I-140 cases is 4-6 months. But on many occasions, we have cases approved far faster than the average processing time.
This client is a Senior Research Associate from Denmark in the field of neuropsychopharmacology. His work has focused specifically on the mechanisms behind schizophrenia and depression in an effort to identify new drug targets to alleviate these disorders. He wished to continued employment in the field of neuropsychopharmacology. In order to ensure the success of this case, we submitted extensive documentation of the client’s highly significant contributions to the field of neuropsychopharmacology, including his authorship of 10 peer-reviewed journal articles (8 of them first-authored) and numerous conference papers. Additionally, our firm drafted and submitted several recommendation letters from experts in our client’s shared field. One of the independent recommenders noted “[The Petitioner] also contributed a very important study about the nature of what the field of biological psychiatry calls “brain-derived neurotropic factor” (BDNF). This work demonstrated the very valuable fact that BDNF gene activation is not generally associated with the use of SSRI and other types of antidepressants. This finding has contributed to the redirecting of valuable research funds away from the study of BDNF and toward other, potentially more productive areas of research. This has been of value not only to the millions of citizens across the world who suffer from depression, but to the many thousands of people who have dual diagnoses of both drug addiction and mental illness.” With the strong petition letter and recommendation letters we prepared, his NIW case was approved in just six weeks.
